WINSOR & NEWTON LIFTING PREPARATION

The lifting preparation allows dry layers to be lifted from the paper more easily with a wet brush or sponge.
It is a preparation with which beginners can prepare the paper and make corrections in their painting.
The lifting preparation should be the first thing applied to the paper, and it should be allowed to dry. Once dry, painting should continue in the usual way.
Corrections can be made by lifting the colour with a wet brush or sponge.
The layers will lift better within five to six hours after the first application. However, they will always come off more easily than if only paper had been used.
The lifting preparation does not make the watercolour more soluble, so there is no danger of multiple layers becoming muddy.
