titan arts shellac

It is used as a primer for porous surfaces such as plaster or wood, avoiding excessive absorption. It is also an excellent varnish with a very glossy finish. On wood, it enhances its grain and gives it hardness and high gloss. On plaster or other porous surfaces, it eliminates their excessive porosity and thus enhances the vividness of the colours applied on top. By adding colouring agents to the alcohol, a wide variety of suitable transparent tones can be achieved, as glazes and as a final finish. A common varnish for polychromes and gilding.
