SPECTRAFIX FINALFIX ADVANCED FIXATIVE
FinalFix is a casein based spray fixative containing beeswax and other natural ingredients. Its formulation causes the casein to harden for a hard, moisture resistant finish.
Provides a slightly deeper semi-matt finish than Degas Fixative.
Once dry, it is water and scratch resistant. It can be reworked.
It is non-yellowing and completely natural and smokeless.
It combines well with dry techniques and can be used after SpectraFix Degas Fixative, or on its own. It works very well for highlighting depth in gouache paintings in mixed media works.
Please note that non-drying mineral oils in oil pastels do not combine well with beeswax. It should not be used as a top coat over acrylic or oil paints unless sealed with a top coat of acrylic or oil varnish. This is because it absorbs atmospheric moisture and acrylics and oils do not, and as a result is likely to flake off the surface over time.
