SPECTRAFIX DEGAS SPRAY FIXATIVE

Degas Fixative for paint in spray format.

Made from casein, water and alcohol. Based on an old recipe of the painter Edgar Degas for sealing and protecting all kinds of artistic paintings.

It dries quickly and the finish is transparent matt and water resistant. The colours retain their original brilliance. It can be worked over if the work needs to be retouched.

As there are no toxic fumes or odours, it is perfect for artists who are sensitive to chemicals.

Can be used on paper, primed or unprimed canvas, wood, glass, unglazed ceramic, stone or leather.

Use the fixative with pastels, coloured pencil, graphite, charcoal, chalk, watercolour, gouache, casein, ink or to apply other media to encaustic. It is also used under oil or acrylic paints to prevent smearing. Casein adheres permanently to the layer covering the oil paint and, like egg tempera, has been used for centuries to make grisaille or coloured underpaints that can then be glazed with oil.

Degas Fixative is not recommended as a top coat for acrylics or oils.
