Description

PRINCETON CATALYST WEDGE BIG SILICONE PAINTING TOOL

Catalyst is an innovative line of creative tools for artists.
They are neither traditional brushes nor exactly palette knives. Catalyst tools are made from flexible silicone, allowing artists a new form of expression. Available in two styles: Catalyst Wedges are ergonomically designed to fit in the hand, enabling direct interaction with the surface. Catalyst Blades are silicone brushes mounted on a wooden handle. A combination of tradition and innovation.

Designed for use with high density paints, Catalyst Silicone can be used with oil paints, acrylics and water-based oils. Because they are heat resistant, they are ideally suited for encaustic painting. Artists are using them with plaster glazes, clay, and more. They are even used in food preparation, as the silicone they are made from is FDA-approved (Food and Drug Administration, United States).

Silicone is easy to clean and is resistant to solvents. Cleaning can be done in most cases with mild soap and water. Dried paint is easy to peel off the silicone surface. In the case of Catalyst Blades, they can even be detached from their wooden handles for easy cleaning and reattachment when dry.

2 new finishes have recently been added to the Catalyst tool range: Contour and Mini Blades (a range of mini blades with different finishes). This range is made of nylon and silicone, which makes it resistant to heat, solvents, dishwashers, etc. These features combined with the new shapes and sizes allow for more creativity when decorating cakes, foodcrafting, plaster and dense acrylic.

Catalyst Blades: this series consists of 6 models (one of each colour), with each model available in 3 widths: 15 mm, 30 mm and 50 mm.

Catalyst Wedges: available in 6 finishes.

Catalyst Contours: 4 models x 4 finishes each.

Catalyst Mini Blades: 6 models.
