GAMBLIN GALKYD OIL PAINTING MEDIUM

Galkyd is an oil medium that thins the paint and increases its transparency and shine.

Used in greater proportions, it softens brushstrokes and provides a smooth, enamel-like finish.

It is the fastest drying medium. Thin layers usually dry to the touch within 24 hours.

It contains Gamsol and is thicker than Galkyd Lite, although it can be diluted with more solvent for primers and washes.

CONSERVATION:

Store the bottle upside down to prevent a film from forming and thickening.

Alkyd resin dries through evaporation and oxidation, and increasing the air in the container accelerates drying. If you notice that the medium has become thicker, add a little Gamsol and stir. Only transfer the amount needed for each session.

PLEASE NOTE:

Do not use Galkyd as a varnish. For the final finish, use Gamvar.
