GAMBLIN CONSERVATION COLOURS

Gamblin conservation colours are manufactured on the basis of a synthetic, low molecular weight aldehyde resin (Laparol A-81), mineral spirits and lightfast pigments. No additives are used.

This resin makes the colours highly photochemically stable and stable during ageing, providing excellent pigment wetting and similar working properties to a natural resin.

The colours have a good hiding power and practically do not change colour when dry.

All colours have a high light fastness.

Most colours are very transparent.

Because the resin is soluble in low polarity solvents, the need for strong solvents that could affect the restored work is reduced.

Gamblin conservation colours come in handy 15 ml screw-capped glass containers, which prevent the colour from drying out and evaporating (just add a little solvent periodically and mix to re-wet the colour).

If the colours dry out on the palette, simply add 25% isopropanol mineral spirit and use them again.
