Giovanni studied at the School of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. From the age of 9 when he began to paint in watercolour, the artist has continued to explore other painting techniques during his studies, which have subsequently earned him important awards. His work focuses mainly on still lifes in a hyperrealist style, drawing from POP Art and the photorealism of Andy Warhol, Chuck Close and Ralph Goings.

Since 1993 and handmade in Seattle (USA), Daniel Smith watercolours have a high concentration of extra fine pigments and a wonderful lightfastness.
