BOOK (IN SPANISH) - CURSO PRACTICO DE FIELTRO MODELABLE PASO A PASO + DVD

Synopsis

Felt has been used for centuries as a base for making clothing and carpets, and is prized for the construction of yurts by nomadic herders from Anatolia to Mongolia, with known remains dating back to the 4th century BC.

Thanks to an enormous colour palette and improved techniques, felt is now an indispensable material in fashion design and interior decoration.

Sixties handbags, romantic flower jewellery or a fun teapot cover - all this and much more can be created from felting wool. The actual handcrafting of these attractive pieces is easier than you might think.

Mastering the basic principles is the key to success in the realisation of these projects.

How to make a ball, how to make flat felt shapes or a bag out of modelling felt are just some of the techniques you can learn with the help of this book, in which all the basic techniques are illustrated in detail. The main attraction of this basic course is the accompanying DVD.

In it Katja Bayer, who studied with Hungarian felt designer István Vidák and has continued to refine her work over the past nine years, demonstrates the basic techniques of the book live.

This way some of the steps of the techniques can be better understood. Once you have familiarised yourself with the basic techniques from the first project, you will find in this book 29 other ideas for making costume jewellery, modern accessories and decorative objects for your home.

Consider these objects as a proposal that you can vary and combine as you wish as you expand your knowledge. But before you succeed, you always have to take the first step - welcome to the basic course in modelling felt!

Katja Bayer

Katja Bayer learned the basics of the traditional art of felting in Turkmenistan and over time has developed her own style through workshops and research on her own, using modern means.
