artemiranda chalk - calcium carbonate

ARTEMIRANDA CHALK - CALCIUM CARBONATE

Artemiranda calcium carbonate, also known as chalk, is a compound commonly used in the manufacture of primers and paints.

It serves to give a smooth texture and body to the paint.

Provides opacity and good covering power.

It is more economical than other additives for providing body or texture to paint such as gels, resins, etc.

You can also apply it as a base coat that improves the adhesion of other paint layers.

It does not dissolve in water, but it dissolves in diluted acids with the release of CO2.

It is not compatible with acids, ammonium salts or aluminium compounds.

At 825 ºC it decomposes into CO2 and CaO.

It is an odourless and tasteless powder.

Chemical formula: CaCO3.
